Arena di Verona

IfB are proud to announce the launch of exciting new ticket packages for the Arena di Verona Summer Opera Festival!
 
One of Verona’s most famous sights is its giant Roman amphitheatre, built in the 1st century AD and the third largest still in existence. It measures 139 metres long and 110 metres wide, and can seat some 25,000 spectators in its 44 tiers of marble seats. In 1913 Verdi’s Aida was the first opera performed in the arena, which has been used at the setting for the summer opera season ever since. Every year up to two thousand performers present grand opera at its best in the unforgettable ambiance of this amazing venue. Performances begin around dusk and spectators on seats on the stone steps of the arena bring small candles (the “mocoleto”) which are lit as darkness falls and the performances begin.
 
The place to see and be seen on a summer evening during the festival season is outside a restaurant situated in the square around the Arena. IfB offer packages for pre-opera prosecco and canapés and pre or post opera dinner with ticket, in just such a location! Join us in the square - be one of the cognoscenti.
 
Also on offer are good quality hotels within Verona's historical centre within a short walk of the venue. These are largely impossible to book during the season so secure your special break with IfB.
 
IfB have a range of ticket prices within the Arena to pair with hotel and/or restaurant experience. Chose to sit in the best seats - where evening dress in obligatory - or high on the stone steps where the Italians drink, picnic and sing along all evening.
