Berlin 2008: Four young fashion design students look for a theme for their graduation show. They draw inspiration from the music of the 1920s, take ideas from the films, colours and shapes of the Roaring Twenties. The appeal of Berlin during that era is discovered afresh and the designers notice surprising parallels between Berlin’s nightlife then and now.

We accompany the four students on their journey, from the first sketches down to fitting their creations and getting to see how their ideas take shape as artistic fantasies.

Of course, there is great excitement before the graduate gala evening and the feelings of euphoria are mixed with doubt. But there’s no turning back as the catwalk beckons. The myth of the 1920s is presented 2008 style. Not necessarily haute couture but very definitely sexy.

A show that is a fusion of acrobatics and fashion. Sometimes daring, sometimes funny, sometimes breathtaking. Slightly crazy perhaps but definitely not off the peg.
