Hänsel und Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) is an opera in three acts by Engelbert Humperdinck, with libretto by Adelheid Wette, after the tale by the Brothers Grimm. It was composed between 1890 and 1893 and premiered at the Court Theatre in Weimar on 23 December 1893.
