In a new original František Kratochvíl ´s approach to the black theatre, you will experience a common day and maybe a bit usual life. Your guide of this event will be the main protagonist of the performance, who will combine the techniques of the black theatre as well as the cartoon and movement theatre in a unique way.


Frantisek Kratochvil’s Black Theatre is unique and is protected by a worldwide patent. In contrast to other Black Theatres, it uses line drawings as a form of mass media. By using simple graphic lines, it gives you an incredible possibilities to engage our imagination into the performance. This is because a line can become a chair, a car, a cloud or a horse. Black animated theatre is a poetic theatre.This form of Black theatre is becoming welcome and demanded everywhere again, because it uses communication and language without any barriers. Black Theatre is having a revival on its home stage in Prague at the Theatre Metro at Narodni trida and this is also echoed abroad.

Also known as Magic Latern theatre, Black Light is a popular form of dramatic art that involves performers dressing in black against a black backdrop (thus being invisible). In other words, they're able to perform puppetry and pantomime with breathtaking results. Arguably there's no better city in the world to see such a spectacle, with the Černé divadlo being a leading exponent of the art.
