The Venue

The Lyric Theatre is the oldest theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, having opened in December 1888. Designed by architect C J Phipps, it was originally built for impresario Henry J Leslie as a home for operetta. Since then the building has successfully hosted drama, comedy and musicals.

Take east exit for Shaftesbury Avenue.

Take the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly Circus.

Access

Wheelchairs: Entrance is through the left-hand double exit door (Royal Entrance).
Hearing Impaired: Infrared headsets available from cloakroom at Dress Circle bar.

Admittance Policy

Regrettably babies and toddlers will not be admitted to the theatre. Children aged 5 years and over will be admitted and, more specific age limits may apply depending on the production. Children should be able to sit, unaided, in their own seat and be attentive to the performance so as not to distract other paying members of the audience.

Admittance to the auditorium is always at the discretion of theatre management.
