Australian Open

Australian Open – Keith Prowse is excited to be an official tour operator for the Australian Open Tennis at Melbourne Park.

For two weeks in January, Melbourne Park, has it all. The eyes of the world zone in on this vibrant precinct as the best tennis players of the day fight it out for one of the biggest Grand Slam titles the sport has to offer – the Australian Open.

For exciting Spaniard Rafael Nadal, 2009 marked his breakthrough year at the expense of three-time champion Roger Federer. The Swiss star came close to equalling the Grand Slam record of American Pete Sampras, who amassed 14 titles in his 15-year career.

Federer returns to Melbourne in 2010 to cement his claim as the greatest player of all time.

On the women’s side, rankings and form count for little when Serena Williams is in town. The gutsy American is the owner of three Australian titles and no matter what her January ranking, Serena starts the year ’Slammin her way to the final.

With no-one dominating the women’s tour in 2009, Serena will be defending her title against an exciting band of determined and ferociously competitive women all vying for the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup. Australia’s own Samantha Stosur and Jelena Dokic stand tall among them while fans will be thrilled to see the return of Belgian Kim Clijsters and Russian glamour Queen, Maria Sharapova.

The Australian Open continues to smash attendance, television and website records with a mind-blowing 8.6 million unique visitors checking out the official site – www.australianopen.com – and domestic TV ratings exceeding 10 million.

With live sites beaming the event from Fed Square in Melbourne and historic Customs House in Sydney, more than 600,000 people pour into Melbourne Park to see the world’s best.

Australian Open 2010. Your ticket to tennis heaven. Your ticket to the world!
