Fanfarlo is a London based band formed by the Swedish musician Simon Balthazar (vocals, guitar, clarinet). Their name refers to Charles Baudelaire’s novella, “La Fanfarlo.”

After issuing the singles Talking Backwards, You Are One Of The Few Outsiders Who Really Understands Us, Fire Escape and Harold T. Wilkins on four independent labels between 2006 and 2008, Fanfarlo travelled to Peter Katis’s studio in Connecticut, USA to record their debut album, Reservoir. The album was self-released in February 2009 to coincide with a tour of England and Scotland, including dates supporting Snow Patrol.

Chicane is an Electronic Dance Music act, and the guise of British Musician, Composer and Record Producer Nicholas Bracegirdle. He was born on February 28th 1971, in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire.

Chicane is known for the singles “Offshore”, an Ibiza dance anthem included in many compilations in both chill-out and dance versions; “Saltwater”, which featured vocals by Clannad member Máire Brennan and is one of the most well-known and popular singles of the trance genre; and the UK number-one hit “Don’t Give Up”, featuring vocals by Bryan Adams, which became a top ten hit on singles charts across Europe.

JLS are a pop group that first appeared in the public late in 2008 during their appearance on ‘The X Factor’. JLS’s first single “Beat Again” debuted at number one as of 19th July 2009, making it their first number one single. Based on sales, Boyz II Men is one of the most successful R&B groups of all time, having recorded five #1 pop hits between 1992 and 1997. They have since topped sales of 25 million records. Three of their #1 hits, “End of the Road”, “I’ll Make Love to You”, and “One Sweet Day” (a duet with Mariah Carey), set and broke records for the longest period of time a single remained at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Boyz II Men were originally signed to Motown Records from 1990 to 2000, at which point they were moved to parent label Universal Records. After the 2000 album Nathan Shawn Michael Wanya, Boyz II Men moved to Arista Records. In 2003, Michael McCary left the group due to chronic back problems resulting from scoliosis. As of 2005, Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Nathan Morris continue to tour and record as a trio.

Tickets to post-punk trailblazers Killing Joke playing live at The HMV Picture House in Edinburgh as part of their 30th Anniversary Tour featuring the original line-up.

With a reputation forged in fire, brimstone and magic, Killing Joke have long been one of rock’s most iconic & influential outfits.

Now, 30 years since first bonding in blood, the original line-up of Jaz Coleman (vocals), Geordie (guitar), Youth (bass) and Paul Ferguson(drums) are set to start work on their 13th studio album – the first fruits of a new worldwide deal with the Spinefarm Records label.

Set for release in April 2010, this latest set of recordings (title to be confirmed) will see the aforementioned musicians sharing studio space for the first time in 27 years, having already road-tested their relationship with sold-out shows around the world, kicking off in Tokyo last Autumn.

Over the years, the band members have chosen to develop their talents in a variety of ways: triple Grammy winner Jaz Coleman, for instance, has established an international reputation working with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras, whilst Martin ‘Youth’ Glover has become one of the UK’s most celebrated producers, supervising albums from the Verve & Primal Scream amongst others, as well as achieving major success as one half of highly-regarded duo, The Orb.

Covered by Metallica, Foo Fighters and more, Killing Joke’s apocalyptic vision continues to draw praise from such high-profile supporters as Jimmy Page and Billy Corgan, and the band’s considerable musical legacy can be heard in the works of Nirvana, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails and the like – artists whose rise to fame never saw them cutting ties with the underground/alternative scene.

Once described by Paul Ferguson as ‘the sound of the earth vomiting’, Killing Joke are now poised to take their music of resistance to a whole new level, both in the studio and on the road.

As ever, the journey won’t be easily forgotten… whether those involved wish to do so or not!
