On this half-day afternoon tour, you will visit Topkapi Palace*, imperial residence of the Ottoman Sultans in which the treasury, Chinese porcelain, weapons, calligraphy and more are exhibited (Harem section is not included in the program and is due to extra entry).

The Canal Bus runs 365 days a year from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. In July and August it runs from 10:00am to 8:00pm. During the winter season boats depart approximately every 40 minutes. During the summer season boats depart approximately every 20 minutes.

The Canal Bus does not run on December 25 or January 1 until 12 p.m. (noon).

There will be no tours on Queens Day, April 30, 2009.

We depart from the hotel to explore the highlights of the historical monuments. Visit Suleymaniye Mosque, Byzantine Hippodrome, in which stand the obelisk brought from Egypt by Theodosius and the Serpent Column taken from Delphi by Constantine. The Blue Mosque, which has six minarets and a middle dome of 109 feet, is the next stop before St. Sophia, an originally Christian Basilica, conceived by Constantine and rebuilt by Justinian, then turned into a mosque in 1453 by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror.

In 1920s Ataturk made it a museum for all regardless of creed. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit Topkapi Palace (*) which served as the home of Ottoman Sultans for 400 years and now serves as a museum with a exquisite collection of Chinese porcelain and Ottoman treasury. The Grand Covered Bazaar dating back to XVth century, which has over 2,000 shops under one roof, before returning to the hotel visit .Rustem Pasha Mosque; a 16th century Ottoman mosque which has the best examples of Ýznik tiles and Spice Market, an oriental shopping area where you could find lots of spices, exotic fruits and souveniors.

St. Sophia is closed on Mondays when it is replaced on the tour by the Basilica Cistern.

The Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market is closed on Sundays.
The Topkapý Palace is closed on Tuesdays.
