In a dream-like atmosphere, the choreographer accompanies the passage on Earth of a princess from another world.

This artist of pure lines skilfully plays with light and subtly mixes traditional Japanese and Western music to create a fantasy world.

The fluid dance is sometimes languorous and enigmatic, sometimes swept up by the frenetic rhythms of percussion and the rolling of drums, translates moods and emotions.

Jirí Kylián has specially revisited one of his most essential creations for the Paris Opera Ballet and the stage of the Opéra Bastille.

Making its long-awaited debut at the London Coliseum, Ballet Nacional de Cuba presents two programmes, which showcase the company’s unparalleled technique and extraordinary flair for invigorating Western ballets with vivid Cuban passion.

Magia de la Danza is a mixed bill which brings together extracts from seven of the company's most famous ballets including the Nutcracker, Coppélia and Swan Lake. The full programme is:

Giselle Pas de Deux (Act II)
Sleeping Beauty Polonesa and Grand Pas de Deux (Act III)
The Nutcracker Waltz of the Flowers and Grand Pas de Deux (Act II)
Coppélia Mazurka (Act I) and Grand Pas de Deux (Act III)
Don Quixote Dance of the Toreadors (Act I) and Grand Pas de Deux (Act III)
Swan Lake Dance of the Swans and Pas de Deux (Act II)

These performances feature a full live orchestra and four special guest appearances from international superstar Carlos Acosta, who performs with the company on 30 March and 1, 7 and 8 April. This will be the first time Acosta has ever danced with Ballet Nacional de Cuba in the UK.
